We were allowed to spend 14 hours over the course of two days inside Riverside Hospital about a month before they tore it down. While there were many stories and claims about the building from former employees and patients, we didn’t walk away with much.

My most hair-raising experience inside the building (besides being chased by a bat) occurred being alone at the ER nurse’s station at 3 in the morning. It was pitch black and I swear it felt as if I wasn’t alone. The feeling of movement around me was almost overwhelming, as if the ER was still in operation.
