The Nelson Theatre is the centerpiece of the Collingwood Arts Center and it is in this theater where many have said to glimpse the spirit of a nun, seated in one of the many theater rows.
Before it was a center for the performing arts, Collingwood was an all-girls school and convent operated by the Ursuline Order. The phantom nun who has been seen in the Nelson Theatre is believed to be a former teacher who taught drama and would often be found seated in the back of the darkened, silent theater at the end of the day for moments of private reflection.
