“The Scientific Ghosthunter” by Christopher Tillman
(c) 1998, revised 1999, 2002, 2024
Every October, the media (Internet, print, radio, and television) performs its own “ghosthunts” for the benefit of the public during the Halloween season. Since it’s the season of thrills and chills, every media producer will be seeking eyewitnesses, researchers, and ghosthunters to report on the more spectacular legends in the area. Often times, they’ll report on pieces of folklore that you’ve never heard of, or uncover a witness that you should contact.
For more information on area legends, go to the main branch of your local library and consult the back issues of your area newspapers published during the week of Halloween. More than likely, they will have many stories of area hauntings that have never even made it to a professional book of folklore.
