For the life of me, I cannot figure out why libraries seem to hold so much interest to spiritual visitors.
Barring any tragedies and without much excitement, it’s hard to pinpoint a reason why some libraries are home to a wayward spirit. In some instances, its due to a tragedy on the land prior to or during the life of the library. Or, the building may have served as a private residence at one time. In many cases, the haunting is believed to be the work of a loyal patron or former worker.
Whichever the case, there are many documented cases in which apparitions are reported to have been seen amongst the rows and rows of bookcases. Storage rooms, too, have been the scene of fleeting visions of some unearthly form moving about in the quiet darkness.
Even whispered voices and the sound of turning pages are heard after hours when the library is empty. Some workers have even reported the movement of objects, doors that unlock and open by themselves, and finding long-lost books that seem to appear out of nowhere.
Libraries, for whatever reason, are prone to a variety of paranormal phenomena. If given the chance, an investigation is well worth the effort. Heck, maybe these places are so attractive to the spirit realm because of all the mental energy that is expended. Who can really say for sure?
